Coronavirus – COVID-19 and its impact on Allthreads

In these uncertain times, I wanted to reach out to you give you an update on the Coronavirus and its impact on Allthreads.
The health and safety of our employees and customers is of paramount importance!

With the continued spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) and as information about the virus continues to unfold, I am monitoring the situation very carefully.I am committed to both my employees and to you, our customers.
I have implemented the following practices:

  • regularly disinfecting hard surfaces
  • hand washing regularly and as recommended
  • using and encouraging the use of hand sanitizer which is available on the counter
  • monitoring advice from the relevant authorities and implementing their recommendations
  • ensuring we are healthy
  • encouraging customers to order online or by phone

Our online shop is up to date with our products and all products can be ordered online through the website or by phone. If you can’t find something on the website we encourage you to call us.

To protect the health of our customers and staff we encourage you to phone or order online. For all orders in Australia over $75.00, we will offer free shipping as of today. We will also offer a “Drive Through” service – phone your order through to us and we will prepare and pack it and take it to you in your car!

We will also offer Facetime Shopping. Please call the shop during shop hours and book a time for us to walk around the shop showing you stock, in live time. We can assist you with your choices via Skype, Messenger, Whats Ap – whichever platform you are most comfortable using. We can then complete your order with you at that time. We can even walk and talk you through all the new products that have come into the shop in recent weeks including our Nashville products!

As authorities are recommending that people stay home and social distance, this is the perfect time for you to catch up on some stitching time - guilt-free! With so much  uncertainty of what is happening around us, why not use the next few weeks as an opportunity to try something new, start a new project or get a UFO finished!  We are here to help you with your choices and to ensure you have all of the supplies that you need.

For us at Allthreads, it will be business as normal and we will operate our usual business hours.

Whilst we don't want to create a situation of panic, we do  want to make sure that by coming to the shop, you are not exposed to risk and for this reason we are trying to restrict the number of people that we – and you – come into contact with at the shop. If you are comfortable coming to the shop to make your purchases, we are happy for you to do so.

If you have any signs of a cold, fever or flu please do not come to the shop as exposure to the virus by any one of my staff will mean quarantine and therefore closure of the shop. None of us want this and the measures I am taking are to avoid this situation.

CLASSES
Unfortunately for the next few weeks and until further notice all social stitching and classes will be cancelled. Again this is to limit contact with numbers of people, and therefore possible exposure by staff and other customers. This has been an agonising decision for me however I would be extremely upset if any of our customers or my staff were exposed to the virus while at Allthreads and contracted it.  I will be constantly monitoring and implementing the advice of relevant authorities and will let you know when classes will resume.

WORKSHOPS
I have made the unprecedented decision of postponing Margaret Light's workshops which were scheduled to occur from the 2nd  – 5th April. I will be in touch with all those who have enrolled in these workshops in coming days. These workshops will be postponed until August 2020 when Margaret was to return to Allthreads to teach a new project - instead she will teach the projects planned for this visit.

I will make a decision about further workshops in coming weeks.

We are all in this together and I hope that you will understand and support me during this time. It is not an easy time for any of us and I can assure you that the decisions I have made have not been made lightly. Many businesses and their employees will struggle with this Pandemic – please support all of us in local small businesses. Take sensible precautions and most importantly don’t panic.

I hope that you will feel comfortable shopping at Allthreads online, by phone or in person, and I thank you for your continuing support.

If you are missing your usual get togethers, join our Allthreads Community on Facebook and share your stitching projects. There will always be someone you can interact with - even if it is remotely!

Hopefully this Pandemic will be over soon and we can all resume our “normal” lives! Stay safe and stay healthy and use the time to catch up on your stitching!

Happy Stitching!
Kerryn
