Turning the traditional band sampler layout 90 degrees, Betsy has gathered together a collection of beautiful motifs and stitched them onto cream linen with her favourite stitches and threads.

The bands of stitching include luscious strawberries, acorns and oak leaves, various flowers and charming figures interspersed between rows of colourful Bargello, a twirling blue ribbon and whitework.

Stitched with hand-dyed Gloriana silk threads, the sampler is anchored at one end with a spectacular floral motif featuring a rose, yellow heartsease and acorns.

Finished size 10.5 x 39.5cm 

Stitched on 36ct cream linen (25 x 55cm) with Gloriana stranded silk - 3 Vanilla, 48 Spanish Moss, 53 granny Smith green, 124A Slate Blue Light, 130 Sunflower, 151 Cinnamon, 155 Denim Blue, 169 Old Gold, 243 Vintage Teal, 269 Coral teal.
