These distinctive hana fukin (sashiko samplers) have been stencilled using both traditional and contemporary designs. Following the lines of the printed design, stitches of sashiko thread define the image. The cloth is then washed to reveal the design clear of the stencilled lines. The extensive range of single-coloured and variegated sashiko threads and embroidery threads available enables you to create many unique colour and design variations which can be used simply as napkins and placemats or to create cushions, bags, quilts and garments.
